North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is located in Raleigh and is the oldest museum in North Carolina and the largest of its kind in the Southeast. Its founding dates back to 1879. On four floors, the museum shows impressive exhibitions on the natural history of the state of North Carolina. On the first floor you can learn all about North Carolina’s natural treasures and the coast. On the second floor is the motto “from the mountains to the sea”; only so much can be revealed: you can see a waterfall and snapping turtles. The fourth floor provides information about prehistoric North Carolina and on the fourth floor you will encounter many living animals. But the best way to find out what exactly the museum has to offer is to simply visit it yourself.
