The city of Kenner is located in Jefferson Parish and is a New Orleans suburb. It was founded in 1855 by Minor Kenner on the area of three plantations. Connoisseurs offers a very special attraction, especially for “shopaholics” – “The Esplanade”, a huge shopping mall with world-famous brands and first-class boutiques. The historic Rivertown district is particularly worth seeing. Here you can visit the “Kenner’s Heritage Park”, the “Rivertown Repertory Theater” or the “Kenner’s Planetarium & Science Museum”. Many cafes and restaurants invite you to linger. The “Park Laketown” is also highly recommended, where you can go by boat, bike or just sit on a bench with a view of the lake.
Metairie
Metairie is a city in Jefferson Parish and the largest parish in this Parish. The area around Metairie was not settled by the French until the late 18th century. “Old Metairie”, which was built around 1920, is one of the most prestigious and historical districts. There are great shopping opportunities here as well as first-class bars and restaurants. The “Lakeside Shopping Center” is highly recommended. If you want a colorful and exciting night life, you should visit “Fat City”. This urban area in Metairie has numerous nightclubs and bars and has existed since the 1970’s. The “Lafreniere Park” and the “Lake Pontchartrain” are also worth seeing.

Acadian Village
The Acadian Village is located on 130,000 square meters in Lafayette. It is a collection of buildings and homes around a pond that depict life in an 18th century Acadian village. All houses are original buildings that have been extensively restored. Only the “New Hope Chapel” in the village center is a replica. Part of the village are the “Thibodeaux House”, the “Billeaud House”, an old forge, the “Doctor’s Museum” and the “Mississippi Valley Missonary Museum”. Each house has its own story and shows the ingenuity of the former builders.
American Rose Center Gardens
The so-called “Gardens of the American Rose Center” are botanical gardens in Shreveport with a variety of different roses. “American Rose Center Gardens” is the largest rose garden in America thanks to the 60 individual gardens with a total of more than 20,000 roses. The Botanical Garden is open from spring to autumn and hosts a number of events during these months. The “Spring Bloom” in April and another event that takes place in mid-October are very popular.
