Today the museum houses an amazing collection of more than 16,000 works of art. You can see Asian and African works of art, European and American art up to 1900, modern and contemporary art, as well as drawings, photographs, prints and traditional southern porcelain.

The State Historic Site was built to preserve parts of the battlefield and to provide an insight into the life of settlers in northern North Carolina in the 1770’s. In the visitor center you can also find books and documents and many other relics from this era. Also part of the Alamance Battleground State Historic Site is the John Allen House, where visitors can take guided tours.
