Orange Beach

The small town of Orange Beach in Baldwin County is also in a fantastic location on the Gulf of Mexico and is therefore also a popular tourist destination. A subtropical climate and miles of white sandy beaches are a matter of course here. Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities. Orange Beach is not only known for its beautiful beaches: the largest ferris wheel in the southeastern USA is also located here. The “Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach” is also very popular. A visit to the “Indian & Sea Museum”, which exhibits a large number of artefacts from the indigenous peoples and seafaring, is also worthwhile. Nature lovers are particularly drawn to the “Back Country Trail”, which is a hidden gem in Orange Beach. Those looking for a lot of fun and adrenaline rushes should visit the “Adventure Island” amusement park. Often trips to the sea are also offered, where you can watch dolphins wonderfully. The excellent restaurants and the first-class shops are also recommended.

Rickwood Caverns

Rickwood Caverns State Park is located in Warrior near Birmingham. The state park consists of stalactite caves that are more than 260 million years old. On the so-called “miracle mile” guided tours through the mysterious and beautiful stalactite caves are offered. During such a tour one sees “living” formations, small lakes that are fed by springs and other curiosities. Outside the caves there are some hiking trails as well as picnic and camping opportunities. The park is open all year round, but the opening and closing of the caverns are seasonal.
