Historic Voodoo Museum

The “Historic Voodoo Museum” is located in New Orleans and opened in 1972. The founder of the museum was Charles Massicot Gandolfo, who learned through stories from his grandmother that an alleged voodoo queen lived in his family. Gandolfo was so fascinated by the history and culture of his hometown New Orleans that he decided to share the voodoo cult with his fellow human beings. The “Historic Voodoo Museum” shows an impressive collection of voodoo artefacts from all over the world and provides interesting information about this cult in New Orleans. Even if the museum is a pure tourist attraction, voodoo priests give the whole thing a touch of authenticity.

“Jackson Square” is a historical park in the “French Quarter” of New Orleans. The heart of the park is undoubtedly the castle-like “Saint Louis Cathedral”. John Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

The “John Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve” is located in southern Louisiana near New Orleans and was named after Jean Lafitte. It was founded in 1907 to protect the rich natural and cultural resources in the Mississippi Delta region. The park shows how the unique regional culture of the Acadians has influenced the environment and history. Part of the Historical Park are the three “Acadian Cultural Centers” in Lafayette, Eunice and Thibodaux, which show the rich history and culture of the Acadians in exciting exhibitions. The “Barataria Preserve” and the “Chalmette” battlefield with the “National Cemetery” also belong to the park.

Louisiana Museum of Natural History

The Louisiana Museum of Natural History is the state museum of natural history located on the Louisiana State University campus in Baton Rouge. It houses the “LSU Museum of Natural Science”, the “LSU Herbarium”, the “Louisiana State Arthropod Museum” and the “Textile and Costume Museum”. The Museum of Natural Science shows, among other things, exhibitions on mineralogy, petrology and palynology. The museum complex has existed since 1936 and has been inspiring with more than 2.5 million exhibits since then.
