Expected much next Qualcomm chipset. The bitter taste that left the Snapdragon 810 cannot be repeated this time, and the truth is that what we know so far is quite attractive. The Snapdragon 820 back to look like mounted on an edition of the Galaxy S7 development, throwing a couple of interesting facts.
So far we have seen some of the components of this System on Chip (SoC), as its graphics unit or its image processor for the camera, their LTE Cat 12 connectivity to 600/150 Mbps down/upload or Quick Charge 3.0, which promises to charge the mobile at 80% in just over 30 minutes. Now it reappears in a filtered benchmark, which gives us a point of contact with its performance at a more advanced stage of development.
In the image, which has appeared on Weibo from the hand of a user who had already previously brought other processors filtered data, we see three results per color. Green for the 810 Snapdragon, yellow for A version of the 820, and red for an improved version called B and that it exceeds 70,000 points in Antutu.
The Snapdragon 820-A and 820-B are working both on prototypes of this ‘S7 Galaxy’. We see how in areas monofilament for calculation with integers and floating point improvements are, with respect to the Snapdragon 810, a 38, and 77%, respectively.
The 820 Snapdragon will come as a chipset processor made of 14-NM, with the improvement in energy consumption this entails and, at the same time, the improvement in performance that allows applying the same power. They will be Cryo quad-core, a custom 64-bit architecture, which will up to 2.2 GHz, with processing heterogeneous (i.e., that each core you can put to work at a speed independent according to the needs of the terminal at all times).
Still any relative to the Galaxy S7 feature is unknown or if this will finally arrive with processors of Qualcomm. It seems that at the moment they are doing tests also with own platforms, with the 8890 Exynos and the Mongoose designs. It seems that at the moment working with the base of the Galaxy S6 + Edge or Note 5, whose specifications fit seen so far.
We will see if this year they take the Qualcomm solution for international versions and their own for Korean and others, or if on the contrary they repeated with Exynos throughout its range.
