The sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy are the thinking soul of Rodarte. The designers have presented at New York fashion week collection “Los Ángeles”. Northern California-inspired designs. Girls on the coast West free of worries and with eighties aires. A collection which personally I think is completely dispensable and with very little grace.
Minimal tops, mini skirts of leather with fringes, suspenders, vests, caps and belts of tacks into a single look, over you look at you look at. Rodarte designs seek to the pimp more tacky without convincing at all.
One of the obsessions of the Mulleavy sisters are the 1980s, and although New York fashion week designers have opted more for 90, Rodarte is faithful to his favorite years. Blazers with shoulder pads and some of their proposals are combined with micro shorts large lapels.
Do you remember the film Bar Coyote? Some items shoot you seem to be drawn from the same movie. Fringes everywhere, Leopard skirts, gold chains and pointy shoes in silver. A mixture too hard for one.
The best without a doubt of the parade were their dresses and ensembles with mixture of prints of paintings with stripes in black and white with ruffle and a preppy touch quite flattering.
